1
We purchase day old pullet chicks and raise them for approximately 20 weeks at pullet farms.
2
After 20 weeks, they are transferred to hen farms for breeding, mating, and laying eggs. They remain at breeder farms for about 45 weeks.
3
The eggs are transferred to Mar-Jac’s hatchery, in Lula, Georgia and are incubated for 21 days. Once hatched, the day old chicks are transferred to broiler farms, where they are raised to maturity. Our hatchery provides us the ability to control the environmental conditions of the eggs throughout the incubation period.
4
Mar-Jac Poultry’s state-of-the-art feed mill was built in 2005 and is located in Maysville, Georgia. The feed mill receives various feed ingredients such as corn and soy meal via railway and converts them to the perfect nutritional formula to optimize healthy growth for all of Mar-Jac’s chickens. Our highly-automated mill produces 8,500 tons of feed per week to supply nearly 200 contracted poultry farms in Northeast Georgia.
5
Our partnership with our contract growers allows us to uphold our commitment to customer service and exceed expectations. We assign a field specialist to each farm to ensure compliance with our various safety and quality programs.
6
Commitment to quality and service at every level of management distinguishes Mar-Jac Poultry as a leader in the poultry industry. As such, Mar-Jac Poultry remains one of the most modern processing facilities in the country. We currently process 2,000,000 chickens per week at our processing plant in Gainesville, Georgia.
